About Privacy Codes:

Privacy codes (also called Continuous Tone Squelch) help filter out other radios using the same channel so you only hear your group.

Channels 1–22 do not use privacy codes, so the Mountain Radio and Expedition Radio communicate directly on these channels.

The Mountain Radio also includes channels 23–128, which use pre-programmed privacy code combinations for quick setup. You can manually change privacy codes on the Mountain Radio if you want, but most users simply select one of these pre-programmed channels.

On the Expedition Radio, privacy codes are always set manually by selecting a channel (1–22) and choosing a privacy code.
